An engineer who works inside the businesses you'd recognise.
BYK is one person, on purpose. You work directly with the engineer who builds your tool — no account managers, no handoffs, no layer of consultants between you and the work.
I'm Ben — an AI-native engineer. I build production AI and automation inside the legal function of one of Europe's largest tech companies — the sole technical person on a ~70-person legal team that spans multiple markets, shipping tools people use every day.
The flagship is a regulatory-intelligence platform the entire public-affairs team now relies on daily; I'm also building the team's central legal hub and risk tools that reach C-level. I came to this from computer science and data analytics, so I care as much about whether the answer is right as whether it's clever.
It's not all enterprise. I've built AI into a real-estate business, and at the Fixathon hackathon I took first place with a tool that helps people who'd just been laid off work out how to file claims and get compensation — the kind of problem where getting it right actually matters.
BYK is where I bring all of that to businesses that run on documents, inboxes and manual work — anywhere a team wants the same edge without an enterprise budget or timeline. I build my own tools too (right now a personal assistant I call Jarvis). I'm honest about what AI can and can't do, I scope tightly and price up front — and if AI isn't the right answer, I'll tell you that too.
Four things I won't compromise on.
- 01
Process first
I start with your actual work, not the technology. The tool comes after I understand the bottleneck.
- 02
Ship working tools
No slideshows. The deliverable is something deployed, in use, and doing the job — not a recommendation to build it later.
- 03
Honest about AI
I'll tell you when AI is the wrong answer. Your trust is worth more to me than any single project.
- 04
Fixed price, you own it
Agreed before we start. Documented and handed over. It keeps working without me — that's the point.
Let's build something that works.
Tell me about the busywork eating your team's time — I'll tell you honestly whether AI can fix it.
